De stichting Klezmokum is in 2006 opgericht door de Amerikaanse Jazz Pianist Burton Greene. In de jaren daarna zijn met ondersteuning van de stichting joodse tegoeden Maror vele concerten gegeven. Juni 2021 is Burton komen te overlijden (84 jaar) en het was zijn uitdrukkelijke wens dat de stichting zou doorgaan met muzikale activiteiten in zijn geest. Daartoe zijn de naam en de statuten van de stichting aangepast. Het bestuur is dringend op zoek naar een geschikte locatie waar we de nagedachtenis van Burton levend kunnen houden middels tentoonstellingen, workshops, huiskamerconcerten en gastoptredens.

The American jazz pianist Burton Greene set up the Klezmokum Foundation in 2006. Numerous Klezmokum concerts were given with grants from Maror, a fund that supports Jewish culture. Burton passed away June 2021 (age 84) and he made it very clear that he wanted the Klezmokum Foundation to carry on with musical activities in his spirit. The Klezmokum Foundation Board introduced the necessary changes to make this possible. We urgently need to find a suitable location soon where we can keep his memory alive with exhibitions, workshops, concerts and guest performances.
